Our Story

Why We Hand-Build Every Console

Classic Consoles was born from a simple frustration — and a craftsman’s refusal to compromise. When Jeff Will set out to add a console and drink holder to his early Ford Mustang, he couldn’t find anything that was both functional and worthy of the car. As a professional upholsterer and lifelong automotive enthusiast, Jeff did what craftsmen do — he built it himself.

The result was a console that fit the car naturally, looked like it belonged there, and solved a real problem. Fellow enthusiasts quickly noticed. At car shows, owners began asking where they could buy one. That first hand-built console — later known as the “HumpHugger” — sparked something bigger.

Jeff and his wife Nina began producing consoles in Florida as demand grew. What started as a small, hands-on operation quickly gained traction. In 1997, they formally established the Classic Consoles brand and relocated to Cairo, Georgia to put down roots, build out their shop, and expand production. From that point forward, Classic Consoles became known for one thing above all else: craftsmanship.

In 2014, Steve and Cara Stamback acquired Classic Consoles when Jeff and Nina retired. The entire team remained, preserving the skill, experience, and hands-on approach that defined the brand from the beginning. More than 25 years later, that commitment remains unchanged — while the product line continues to evolve.

Some members of our team have been with Classic Consoles since the early years. Others are newer additions who share the same respect for vehicles and dedication to doing things the right way. What unites us is a genuine appreciation for automotive interiors — how they’re designed, how they feel, and how they should look when finished properly.

We don’t view our work as simply manufacturing a product. We see it as improving the driving experience — thoughtfully and carefully. You can see it in the fit. You can feel it in the finish. And you’ll notice it the moment it’s installed.

Our Mission

To build American-made consoles that honor the character of the vehicle, enhance everyday usability, and reflect true craftsmanship.

Rooted in vintage and classic automotive culture and expanding into modern applications, we create purpose-built interior solutions that combine precision manufacturing with hand-finished upholstery — designed to elevate the driving experience for owners who expect more.

Quality Check

Every Classic Consoles design begins with careful research. We study interior layouts, seat geometry, factory materials, and body lines to ensure each console complements the vehicle’s character — whether it’s a vintage muscle car or a later-model truck needing better functionality.

Once a design is finalized, structural components are precision-cut using computerized CNC equipment to ensure consistent fit and long-term durability. From there, the process becomes hands-on. Each console is assembled, stitched, wrapped, and upholstered by skilled craftspeople using high-grade materials selected for both appearance and durability.

Vinyl is carefully stretched and shaped. Seams are aligned and finished with care. Edges are refined. Details are checked.

While our heritage is rooted in vintage and classic vehicles, we continue to expand into select later-model applications where factory interiors leave room for improvement. Regardless of the vehicle, our philosophy remains the same: enhance the interior without overpowering it.
